Throwback Challenge 2020: Unova was a PokemonGO event which ran between June 3rd 2020 at 1:00pm and June 8th 2020 1:00pm local time.

In this article we will explore all bonuses available during the forementioned time peroid and list all the tasks you need to complete to earn a Genesect encounter!

Bonuses

• Galarian Stunfisk will be making its Pokémon GO debut! Find it in the wild, in raids, and as a Throwback Challenge Champion 2020 Special Research reward encounter.
• The following Pokémon will also be making their Pokémon GO debut and hatching from 7 km Eggs along with their usual forms: Galarian Meowth, Galarian Zigzagoon, Galarian Darumaka, and Galarian Stunfisk. You’ll also be able to evolve Galarian Meowth, Galarian Zigzagoon, and Galarian Darumaka into their Galarian evolved forms!
• Pokémon originally discovered in the Unova region will be appearing more frequently in the wild.

Timed Research Tasks

Stage 1 of 5

• Make 15 Great Throws (Galarian Meowth Encounter)
• Catch 15 Pokémon (x1 Incense)
• Transfer 15 Pokémon (x30 Ultra Balls)

Completion Rewards: Gothita Encounter, 500 Stardust, 500 XP.

 

Stage 2 of 5

• Evolve 5 Pokémon (x5 Rare Candy)
• Hatch 15 eggs (Oshawott Encounter)
• Win 15 raids (x10 Max Revive)

Completion Rewards: Darumaka Encounter, 500 Stardust, 500 XP.

 

Stage 3 of 5

• Make an Excellent Throw (x30 Ultra Balls)
• Battle another Trainer 15 times (Tepig Encounter)
• Power up Pokémon 15 times (500 Stardust)

Completion Rewards: Blitzle Encounter, 500 Stardust, 500 XP.

 

Stage 4 of 5

• Give your buddy 15 treats (x1 Golden Razz Berry)
• Catch a Dragon-type Pokémon (Snivy Encounter)
• Take 15 snapshots (x1 Silver Pinap Berry)

Completion Rewards: Audino Encounter, 500 Stardust, 500 XP.
