Throwback Challenge 2020: Sinnoh was a PokemonGO event that ran between May 22nd 2020 at 1:00pm and May 29th 2020 1:00pm local time.

In this article we will explore all bonuses that were available during the forementioned time peroid and list all the tasks you needed to complete to earn a Cresselia encounter!

Bonuses

• Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region, such as Cherubi and Glameow, will be appearing more frequently in the wild.
• Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region will also be available to battle in raids.
• The following Pokémon will be hatching from 7 km Eggs: Cranidos, Shieldon, Glameow, Chingling, Bonsly, Happiny, Gible, Munchlax, Riolu, and Mantyke.
• In honor of Lucario being chosen in the Pokémon of the Year vote as the number-one Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region, Pikachu wearing Lucario hats will be appearing in the wild!
• If you’re lucky, you might find a Shiny Glameow!
• Event-exclusive Field Research tasks will reward encounters with Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region.
• One-hour Star Piece duration, one-hour Incense duration, and one-hour Lucky Egg duration bonuses will be active.

Stage 1 of 9

• Catch 3 Grass, Water or Fire-type Pokémon (10x Poké Ball)
• Power up a Pokémon (Burmy Encounter)
• Take a Snapshot of a Rock-type Pokémon (500 Stardust)

Completion Rewards: 1x Pinap Berry, 2x Razz Berries, Cranidos Encounter.

 

Stage 2 of 9

• Take a Snapshot of a Grass-type Pokémon (5x Razz Berry)
• Send a Gift to a Friend (Combee Encounter)
• Catch a Grass-type Pokémon (500 Stardust)

Completion Rewards: 1x Razz Berry, 2x Pinap Berries, Grotle encounter.

 

Stage 3 of 9

• Make 3 Nice Throws (Magnetic Lure Module)
• Hatch an Egg (Bronzor Encounter)
• Catch a Fighting-type Pokémon (500 Stardust)

Completion Rewards: 1x Pinap Berry, 2x Razz Berries, Monferno Encounter.

 

Stage 4 of 9

• Earn a Candy walking with your Buddy (10x Great Ball)
• Catch a Ground-type Pokémon (Skorupi Encounter)
• Catch a Water-type Pokémon (500 Stardust)

Completion Rewards: 1x Razz Berry, 2x Pinap Berries, Prinplup Encounter.

 

Stage 5 of 9

• Battle another Trainer (Charged TM)
• Use 3 Berries to help catch Pokémon (1x Sinnoh Stone)
• Catch a Ghost-type Pokémon (500 Stardust)

Stage 6 of 9

• Take a Snapshot of a Steel-type Pokémon (10x Ultra Ball)
• Give your Buddy 3 Treats (Hippopotas Encounter)
• Catch a Steel-type Pokémon (500 Stardust)
