In the past two years on Halloween, a new Special Research Quest was added to PokemonGO, featuring Spiritomb, 2020 is no different. The Special Research this year is comprised of 4 Stages with various rewards, including Encounters with both Galarian Yamask and Spiritomb. While Spiritomb has been featured before, Galarian Yamask is a new addition to the game and can also be evolved to Runerigus. "A Spooky Message: Unmasked" is only a small part of all the perks available for Halloween 2020, but each of them will get it's own article.
Some of the tasks require long preparation, and to help trainers equip themselves with the right items in advanced we have comprised a list of all the tasks and rewards available on this Special Research Quest. Note that each tasks gives you a reward and completing each stage grants 3 additional rewards.
Stage 1 of 4
- Catch 30 ghost-type Pokémon (Duskull encounter)
- Transfer 4 Pokémon (340 Stardust)
- Catch 34 Pokémon (340 XP)
Completion Rewards: Yamask Encounter, 3x Pinap Berry, 4x Razz Berry.
Stage 2 of 4
- Catch 10 Dark-Type Pokémon (Event Sableye Encounter)
- Make 8 Nice Throws (10x Poké Ball)
- Catch 108 Pokémon (1080 XP)
Completion Rewards: Spiritomb Encounter, 10x Hyper Potion, 8x Great Ball.
Stage 3 of 4
- Catch 40 Ghost-Type Pokémon (Litwick encounter)
- Make 9 Great Throws (490 Stardust)
- Catch 49 Pokémon (490 XP)
Completion Rewards: Galarian Yamask Encounter, 4x Silver Pinap Berry, 9x Golden Razz Berry.
Stage 4 of 4
- Claim Reward (3,400 XP)
- Claim Reward (1,080 XP)
